Who we are

This website is run by Tomar Contracting ("we", "us"). This policy explains how we handle personal information under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. Questions or requests: email info@tomarcontracting.co.nz or call 0800 866 272.

What we collect

When you ask for a quote we collect what you type into the form: your name, phone number, email address, suburb, the service you need, your timing and any project details. If you email us photos, we keep those with your enquiry. If you become a customer, we also keep the property address, quotes, invoices and job records.

Like most websites, we also collect technical information such as the pages you visit and the device and browser you use (see Cookies and analytics below).

How we use it

• To contact you about your enquiry and arrange a site visit.
• To prepare your quote and carry out and invoice the work.
• To follow up on warranty matters after the job.
• To understand which pages and services people find useful, so we can improve the website.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not add you to a marketing list without asking.

Who we share it with

Our quote form is processed by Formspree, a form service based in the United States, which passes your enquiry to our email inbox. Website analytics are provided through Google Tag Manager and related Google services. These providers may store information outside New Zealand. We only share what is needed for these services to work, and we would otherwise only disclose your information where the law requires it.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Tag Manager to measure how the website is used, for example which pages lead to quote requests and phone calls. These tools can set cookies in your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the website will still work.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries that do not go ahead only for as long as we reasonably need them, then delete them. For customers, we keep job and financial records for as long as we need them for warranty purposes and for as long as New Zealand tax law requires.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Email us and we will respond within 20 working days. If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
